Yay!  He's back, and has returned to a wonderful universe of daemons, and intrigue!  Please bear witness to my epic snoopy dance of happiness. Philip Pullman has written a prequel to basically my favorite Young Human series of all time, The Golden Compass. I've been staring at a copy on the shelves for days now counting down the moments until payday comes.  Then this book will be mine, all mine (queue evil laughter that trails off into coughing).

I may or may not have chosen this book based solely on the cover.  Mr. Mcintyre (or his publisher) manages to make the SAS look like the best alt new-grass band you've never heard of, and they have snazzy coats!  While my interest was initially aesthetic, I later came to discover that Sir Christopher Lee (of Hammer Horror, and Saruman fame) was a member of the unit on and off throughout his service in WWII.  This alone made my nerd girl heart flutter and added this book to my ever-growing pile

I've not read nearly as much Dick as I pretend too.  I picked what one friend described as his most approachable book.  I have many thoughts about his most famous work "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?"  Some of those thoughts are less than kind, and I'm hoping to find a better foot with The Man in the High Castle.

I'll be honest.  This book has been on my list for years, and it may stay there. I adore Margaret Atwood, and have enjoyed everything I've read by her.  However, this book touches upon a subject (while SUPER topical) that is extremely sensitive to me.

I read Wytches by Scott Snyder two years ago for Vallhalloween (a Halloween reading competition between my man bear and me) and slept with the lights on for the rest of the month of October.  I wanted something just as creepy but without insomnia from fear.

This series holds a dear place in my heart.  It filled the void of Harry Potter, and became its own monster of a good read.  Each book builds tension and characters.  Plus it covers Ragnorak!  Which barring the whole end of the world thing, is a fantastic band name.

Welcome to Night Vale is my favorite of favorites of favorites (I may be a touch excited by this) of all the times.  Hopefully, this book lives up to all the kooky potential that has preceded it.

Holly Black was my gateway into teen Urban Fantasy, and she has a new book!  A new book for teens (even though I'm 34 which counts because of its 17 times 2).  Her books are etheral in their language, and fun.

But this is all been negated because I'm reading It by Stephen King and am practically a citizen of Derry, Maine. I will never finish this book, and if i do, it will be a miracle.
