We are pleased to partner with UNC Press to present a conversation with Michelle Fishburne, author of Who We Are Now: Stories of What Americans Lost and Found During the Covid-19 Pandemic. Dr. Lynn Morton, president of Warren Wilson College, will host the event on behalf of UNC Press.

Who We Are Now is a collection of 101 stories of American’s lives during the pandemic, collected by author Michelle Fishburne as she traveled 12,000 miles all over the United States between September 2020 and September 2021. Told in their own words, people from all walks of life and professional backgrounds share what their lives were like, what made them struggle, and what surprised them. Fishburne gives us all an opportunity to hear the stories as if we were there, in real-time, at the beginning of COVID-19 when employment was uncertain, schools were online, and American life was different than it had ever been before.
