"How do I search your inventory?" 

Use the search function across the top of each of our website pages.  The Search bar extends the width of the page. Pro tip: clicking on "advanced search" allows you to filter out any titles that are not "on our shelves now."

"Do you ship books to  ________ ?"

We ship books via USPS Priority or Media Mail using Insurance and tracking is only available if you select Priority. 

"How do I purchase a Malaprop's gift certificate?" 

We sell both physical plastic gift cards (received via USPS mail or in-store pickup) and electronic "gift codes" (delivered by email within 24 hours.) Click here to purchase a physical gift card. For an electronic gift code, click here

"Why isn't my gift card working?" 

Our gift certificates do not expire. If you receive an error message, please make sure you are not attempting to use a gift certificate in the field marked "coupon code." Proceed to the "method of payment" section during checkout and enter the numbers into the field marked with either (physical) "gift card" or (electronic) "gift code." If you encounter further issues, please email us at 

"Can I use an electronic gift code to make purchases in your store?"

Yes! Please present the email to the bookseller at the cash register. 

"I purchased a 'Books Undercover' title and when I opened it up, I discovered that it is a book I already own. Can I exchange it?" 

Yes! We're happy to exchange the title per our returns and exchange policy.

"How do I check the status of my order?" 
To check the status of an existing order, email If logging into a customer account, please ignore the order status "completed," as it is not a reliable indicator that your book has shipped or is ready for pickup. The customer account system also does not contain shipping notifications or order tracking, but when your order ships, you may receive an email from that a package is on its way to you. Feel free to request tracking information by email to 

"How do I attend your live stream events?"

Virtual events require you to RSVP from the event page on our calendar. If you successfully RSVP, you will receive an email confirming your Google form submission. The link to attend is automatically emailed to all registrants on the day of the event. We are not able to control whether or not recipients receive the email, so please make sure your spam settings allow emails from the domain. If you do not receive an email containing the link to attend an event that you registered for, we recommend checking your spam folder. 

"How can I purchase a signed copy?

Click here to view the current selection of signed copies. Note that if you are only interested in a signed copy you must let us know in the comments section during checkout. If you are interested in a signed/personalized book by a local author, purchase online and indicate your request in the "comments" section during checkout. We can neither estimate nor guarantee an arrival date.
