Eggar on the Inside (from the Eggar and Sammy Series, book #1) is about an improbable, yet charming friendship between Sammy, a caterpillar, and Eggar, an egg. The two unlikely companions work together to solve the mystery of Eggar's identity and discover in the end the wisdom of a caterpillar, who said, "What you look like on the outside should not matter. It's who you are on the inside that is more important." Each book in the series includes "Eggstra Thoughts" and "Q and A" fact pages that can spark conversation and help readers enjoy more from their reading experience.
Sue Garnett was raised on a farm in rural Virginia as the second of four children. She attended Virginia Tech where she earned a degree in Education in 1979. Sue taught school for 30 years and worked as a Human Resources Manager for a counseling agency for seven years, during which time she helped start a private school for children who faced emotional and behavioral challenges in the regular school setting. Her love for children, nature, the arts, and reading has been her inspiration for her books. Currently, Sue is retired to be caregiver to her mom, Hilda, and to work on her books. Lisa Cooley grew up in a military family as the youngest of two children and traveled wherever her father was stationed, including overseas in Europe. She graduated from Virginia Tech in 1979 with a degree in Communications. Lisa worked as a special education teacher for 28 years in a variety of settings before joining a counseling agency. She also helped start a private school for children who faced emotional and behavioral challenges. Currently, Lisa is raising her grandson, Tristan, while continuing to work in the counseling field. Lisa and Tristan live with Sue and Sue's mom, Hilda, along with two dogs - Molly and Grover - two cats - Bonnie and Clyde - and three chickens on the family farm in Madison County Virginia. Lisa and Sue have been friends since college and had worked in the classroom together, as well as at the counseling agency and at the private school they helped start. Their books were inspired by the impactful work they've done over the years.
