Wiley Cash presents THE LAST BALLAD launch at UNCA

Wiley Cash in Conversation with Charles Frazier, with Music by Shannon Whitworth

Join Wiley Cash, New York Times best-selling author and UNC- Asheville's writer-in-residence, as he celebrates the release of his new novel, The Last Ballad.

Set in Gastonia, N.C. in 1929 and inspired by true events, the novel chronicles a woman’s struggle for dignity and her rights in a mill in the midst of violent textile strike. Charles Frazier, author of Cold Mountain and Nightwoods, will join Wiley in conversation, and singer-songwriter Shannon Whitworth will perform original music as well as ballads written during the Loray Mill strike on which The Last Ballad is based.

This event, part of UNC Asheville's Visiting Writer Series, is free and open to everyone. Click here for more information.
